Beach time in the Tri-City is a real pleasure – the clean, sandy coast and gentle waves of the Baltic Sea create ideal conditions for relaxation. From morning walks along the shore, jogging, beach volleyball, through water sports, sup and relaxing afternoons with the sounds of nature, to evening events on the beach – you will find here a lot, or maybe even everything, you need to spend an unforgettable holiday. You can learn about where and how to best relax in Gdańsk from our guide for ideal holiday days.
But what to do when the sun hides behind the clouds or you feel like enriching your holiday repertoire of experiences with something more than more or less active lying on the beach? The Tri-City offers plenty of attractions near the sea, which will make every moment spent on the Baltic Sea exceptional. I invite you on a journey through attractions that will provide experiences for both young explorers and adult adventure seekers :)

The beach in Brzeźno is one of the most popular beaches in Gdańsk – ideal for lovers of both sunbathing and water activities. Here you can rent, among others: jet skis, SUPs, and also use the beach volleyball courts. It is also worth visiting one of the local restaurants serving fresh fish to feel the real, Baltic climate.
However, if you want additional attractions for yourself, friends or the whole family, pay attention to the free, beautiful pier and rope park.
I remember how, on one of my first long walks by the sea, my visiting parents asked me: "Is this another pier?" Another, because many people from outside the Tri-City primarily associate it with the longest pier on the Polish coast - the pier in Sopot. But the one in Gdańsk is not worse, and maybe in the eyes of my guests - thanks to its slightly lower popularity, and with the same level of care - it prevails ;)
The historic pier was built in 1900 and was 100 m long. The current pier was built in the mid-1990s and is an extension of Aleja Jana Pawła II. It is longer than the original - it is 136 m long and over 7 m wide. Admission to the pier is free, which certainly makes it a walking destination for many Gdańsk residents and tourists. I encourage you to take a book, audiobook or card game and relax on the benches overlooking the Bay of Gdańsk.

Located in close proximity to the pier in Brzeźno, so ideal to extend your stay in the fresh air and break from sunbathing or change the scenery. In the Port Brzeźno park there are over 80 rope obstacles of varying difficulty, divided into five routes in terms of height: from junior, through low and two medium, and ending with high (temporarily out of service).
Their great diversity allows for unforgettable fun for the youngest (from the age of three) and much older, regardless of their current physical condition. Importantly, the increase in adrenaline goes hand in hand with ensuring the highest safety standards, which from the perspective of parents and guardians is usually the most important aspect of the adventure. As the organizers assure, the system used in the park excludes the unfastening of two carabiners and ensures maximum safety, maintaining the spirit of adventure and at the same time ensuring peace of mind of the guardians. The wolf thirsting for adrenaline is satiated and the sheep caring for safety is whole :)

The beach in Sopot is one of the most characteristic places on the Polish coast. Wide, sandy, vibrant, it is a great place for both sea and sun bathing and water sports. An unforgettable experience will be a walk in the North Park and along the famous Sopot pier, during which you can feel the atmosphere of the resort.
If after sunbathing you feel like other attractions, I suggest a look at the bay and a cultural evening in the open air ;)
The Sopot Lighthouse is a fascinating attraction located at the Sopot Pier. Its history dates back to the early 20th century. It originally served as a chimney for a balneological facility, but today it serves as a viewing point. From its terrace, you can admire pleasant views of the Bay of Gdańsk, Sopot and the Tri-City panorama.
The lighthouse is open to visitors for a small fee all year round. In August it is open to visitors (weather permitting) from 09:00 to 21:00, and in September from 10:00 to 19:00.

Beautiful scenery, nice company and a good film? What more could you want! One of the most recognizable attractions of Sopot – the pier, which is the longest of its kind on the Baltic Sea, once again becomes a cinema “hall”.
Cinema on the pier in Sopot is part of the BNP Paribas Sopot-Zakopane Summer Cinema project, the aim of which is to create the best film holidays for all cinema lovers from the Baltic Sea to the Tatra Mountains.
The entire event, which has been taking place for many years, has been planned down to the smallest detail. During it, viewers have the opportunity to see or recall outstanding films that have won recognition at prestigious festivals, famous Hollywood works on a grand scale, as well as ambitious Polish film productions.
The repertoire has been divided into thematic days. As follows:
The festival will last until the end of August, and what is important – the screenings are free (however, the purchase of a ticket for the pier is required).

The beach in Gdynia Orłowo delights not only with its golden sand, but also with a unique view of the Orłowo cliffs, which are one of the most recognizable landscapes in Poland. It is an ideal place for people seeking respite in beautiful natural surroundings, but also for lovers of active recreation.
And if sunbathing is not enough for you, I encourage you to admire the art and theater of nature.
In the immediate vicinity of the pier in Orłowo, on the beach, performances of the Summer Stage of the Municipal Theatre take place. This initiative was initiated by the management of the Gombrowicz Theatre in Gdynia almost 30 years ago and transformed the beach into the only theatre stage in Poland in a seaside setting. Viewers can enjoy performances, cabarets and recitals, sitting on the sand and listening to the sound of the sea waves, which creates a unique atmosphere.
As the stage is ending this year's activity on 11.08.2024, I encourage you to buy the last available tickets for the performance "Przybora. Kabaret metapsychiczny" directed by Jacek Bała. The theater describes what awaits us during the performance in the following way:
"The legendary "Elderly Gentlemen's Cabaret" returns, and with it a new show composed of well-known and lesser-known, but always outstanding texts. The metapsychic version of the Kabaret is a journey between worlds. Along the way, we will meet a whole galaxy of eccentric individuals, paradoxical and delicate, with a sublime sense of humor, thanks to whom we will also hear brilliant songs with the music of Jerzy Wasowski."

The pier in Gdynia Orłowo is about 180 m long. It offers a very nice view of the Orłowo cliff. Entry is free and I highly recommend it, because Orłowo itself is a really nice district and it is worth stopping here for a while.
I also encourage the more persistent to take a walk along the beach towards Gdynia Główna. It is worth walking next to the cliff (or alternatively, up the path in the Kępa Redłowska Reserve). This is one of the few places in Poland where we can observe a living, working cliff, subjected to sea abrasion (washed away by waves), which is an incredible lesson in the power of nature.

I hope that today's suggestions will appeal to you and will diversify the time spent on the Tri-City beaches :) Regardless of your preferences, I think it is worth reminding about the most important thing - take advantage of the summer, enjoy the sun and charge your batteries, because their good condition will definitely be useful in the slowly approaching September ;)
