Baltic Christmas Carols - an unforgettable Christmas on Sobieszewo Island

Christmas is a time that many of us want to experience exceptionally. In the rush of everyday duties, we seek a moment of respite, joy and time for our loved ones.

What if we do it differently this year than we have done so far? Breaking the holiday routine gives us a chance to discover a new dimension of Christmas. A trip to a place full of peace, quiet, close to nature is an opportunity to celebrate the holidays in harmony with the surroundings - during walks on the beach, singing carols together under the stars or immersing ourselves in wellness rituals. Instead of repeating the established traditions, we can create our own - ones that will be more authentic, personal and tailored to the needs of the heart. It is worth trying to find the true magic of the holidays... in simplicity :)

Sobieszewo Island – a place full of unique Baltic nature – is the perfect destination to spend this special period in an unconventional way. From walks on sandy beaches, through regenerating saunas, to winter baths – Sobieszewo offers an alternative to traditional, noisy holidays. Although, of course, there will be plenty of opportunities to indulge in your favorite Christmas customs :)

Traditional Christmas Eve supper or a dinner with a thrill?

For many of us, Christmas Eve dinner and a table laden with twelve (hopefully ;)) dishes are the absolute highlight of Christmas celebrations. However, there are also those who, instead of sharing the wafer in beautiful dresses and suits, would rather share a fresh roll on the steps of a village shop after a long walk. And since there is no accounting for taste, I tried to find suggestions for everyone :)

The Sky of Michelin Stars

Let's imagine Christmas Eve dinner on the beach, with a view of the twinkling lights of ships in the roadstead and the starry sky. Snow gently sprinkles the sand, and the sound of waves becomes a natural accompaniment of the evening. Let's spread a thick blanket, exchange elegant dresses and high heels for warm sweaters, crystal glasses for thermoses of winter tea, and twelve dishes for holiday snacks that are easy to carry in a picnic basket. Let's share the wafer, but, perhaps more importantly, sometimes with our loved ones.

May the wishes of happiness and joy gain strength when they are said in this magical atmosphere. It is important that they come from the heart.

Christmas Eve Dinner – Traditional with a Touch of Modernity

However, if you dream of a more traditional celebration, Solmarina restaurant offers elegant Christmas Eve dinners full of warm, festive atmosphere. The menu will not lack flavors of dishes loved since childhood... seasoned by the hands of Master Chefs. During Christmas Eve Dinner, a real feast of flavors awaits you, which will bring back the most beautiful Christmas memories. Traditional borscht with dumplings, full of aromatic spices, delights every lover of classics, and creamy mushroom soup with noodles is the true quintessence of Christmas warmth. On the table you will also find delicious Jewish carp in grey sauce, the recipe of which dates back to old traditions, and cod in salsa with colorful vegetables and tomatoes - a perfect combination of tradition with a touch of modernity. Each dish is the result of the passion and talent of our Master Chefs.

Even though there are still almost three weeks until Christmas, my stomach is already growling at the thought of these delicacies :)

Midnight Mass – a mystical moment close to nature

For many Catholics, Christmas without midnight mass is not Christmas. That is why the midnight mass, the midnight mass commemorating the birth of Jesus, takes on a special dimension on Sobieszewo Island.

In the small church of Our Lady of Salestia, enveloped in the silence and darkness of a December night, the gathered faithful will fill the space with a joint singing of Christmas carols. The melodies of "Silent Night" and "God is Born" will, as every year, combine voices into one harmony rising to the sky.

The scent of the Christmas tree, twinkling lights and the subtle glow of candles will enhance the atmosphere of concentration and joy.

If you want to experience this time even more deeply, stop and allow yourself to be close to another person, I encourage you to go to a relatively nearby beach, e.g. Orle, after mass. The twinkling petals, trees guarding the miracle of this night and the sound of waves, combined with the glow of the stars, will become a unique experience that you will certainly remember for a long time :)

This Christmas Eve is the perfect time for quiet reflection – about the miracle of birth, the power of nature, and our own desires and plans.

Have a healthy, peaceful and... active holiday

If you associate the holidays primarily with eating, sitting and doing nothing - it's time to think about a little variety ;) Movement can be the best gift we give ourselves and our loved ones. And what to do? I dream that this year Christmas will be truly white, and my suggestions are possible :)

Cross-country skiing and walks

Cross-country skiing is something worth waiting for almost as much as Christmas. I hope that winter will be good and right after tearing ourselves away from the Christmas table, we will have the opportunity to take part in some activity. The offer is dedicated to the older and younger, the more and less physically fit, because this type of skiing does not require us to be exceptionally fit. However, it does improve it and supports the body's efficiency. It is also a great opportunity to spend time in the bosom of nature, and breathing in fresh, iodine-rich air can bring additional, health-promoting benefits.

However, if there is no hope for snow – it doesn't matter. I have an equally good alternative – walks along the seashore. The cool, iodine-filled air is beneficial to health, and the view of the Baltic Sea in winter is a feast for the senses. Especially if you only know the sea in summer.

And – what is undoubtedly important – each activity allows you to fit in additional portions of cheesecake and dumplings ;)

Warm hearts and cool Baltic Sea – the perfect combination?

Although diving into an ice hole during the holiday season reminds me of Scandinavia, who said it's not worth writing new traditions?! For the brave and those eager for a challenge - Christmas winter swimming in the Baltic Sea! This tradition is gaining more and more popularity in Poland, so there is a good chance that we will not be the only daredevils on the beach.

Diving into cold waters is not only a test of character, but also a way to improve your well-being and health. Especially valuable when we have a day off ahead of us, which we can spend in the warmth of a family fire or... in a sauna ;)

Christmas fever - regeneration in wellness style

All those who have taken part in activities, but also those who want to feel better, relax and simply warm up, should think about a holiday sauna. After an active day, it is worth taking an interest in hotel facilities such as saunas, swimming pools or jacuzzis. The ritual of alternating sauna and cooling bath is a way to improve circulation and strengthen immunity.

And again - we help fulfill Christmas wishes for health ;)

Have a Merry Christmas on Sobieszewska Island!

Christmas is a time worth spending in a way that best suits our needs. For some, it will be peace and quiet, for others, noise, community, laughter and activity. Sobieszewska Island perfectly combines these worlds, offering a space to be yourself, close to nature, away from the rush, but in the company of your loved ones.

I wish you that this holiday will be better than all the previous ones, and that the magic will remain in your memory for a long time ✨
