September brings subtle changes in the air – mornings become cooler and evenings gain new depth, as if the world is preparing for a transformation. At this time, when most tourists return to their daily duties, nature awaits those who want to experience it in its most beautiful form – in autumnal glow.
The sun, although still present for many hours, now gives a softer, golden light that gives uniqueness to all the shots. Those who seek peace and relaxation in the rhythm of nature will find it in the threads of Indian summer on Sobieszewska Island.
This is a place that not only tempts with empty beaches and the soothing sound of waves, but also offers something more – immersion in nature and the most beautiful landscapes painted by its forces. Autumnal colours combined with silence inspire, and the golden hour – a special time when light and shadow create an incredible harmony – completes the spectacle.
I invite you – with your camera – to this exceptional island to discover its autumnal magic.

Well then, snap!
Photographing nature in autumn is a unique experience. From sunrise to sunset, the world presents us with new objects that look even more beautiful in the warm light than in the summer.
You don't have to be an award-winning photographer equipped with a professional body, a few lenses and photo editing programs to enjoy the moment and... take pictures. To have fun and be amazed by the beauty of moments, all you need is a regular smartphone and... a little time and an openness to what autumn will bring us. And although only a few of us will publish our frames in National Geographic, it is worth trusting your intuition and building your own gallery, even if it is in your phone's memory or a classic album :)
September is a great time to try your hand at photography, discover new perspectives and learn to see beauty in detail. The weather is still conducive to going outside, breathing deeply and immersing yourself in the richness of colors and emotions that are just waiting to be captured and captured in the frame.

Sobieszewska Island captured in the frame
In autumn, nature shows itself in all its glory, painting the landscapes with warm, golden and red colours. This is the time when the sun, hanging lower in the sky, creates long shadows and highlights every detail - from leaves gently moving in the wind, to mysterious and atmospheric mists floating over lakes and meadows in the morning.
And it is Sobieszewo that can become a pearl worth getting to know better with a camera. The island has the status of an ecological island and is a Protected Landscape Area. Nature lovers will certainly not be bored, because despite the relatively small area it occupies, it is characterized by great natural diversity, resulting primarily from its delta location near the mouth of the Vistula River.
Walking in this area, you will certainly notice various habitats with characteristic fauna and flora, including seaside beaches, dunes, ponds, a lake, meadows, arable fields, as well as mixed forests and pine forests.

The kingdom of fungi and plants through the lens
Focus, because on the horizon appears its majesty – a mushroom. Yes, Sobieszewska Island, abounds in various species of this kingdom. There are noble specimens, such as boletus, but there is also no shortage of common blackheads, butter mushrooms and chanterelles, not to mention the incredibly colorful and overlooked by mushroom pickers poisons.
In search of the most beautiful, you will certainly notice many other gifts of nature – red rowan corals, swollen chestnuts, ready to jump out of their shells, velvety mosses and delicate, yet incredibly strong threads of spider web, woven by spiders in unique patterns.
Although I don't know if professionals will agree with me, I think that starting your photography adventure by capturing objects that cannot escape us is uplifting and whets the appetite for more ;)

Inanimate nature... but dynamic
Although the theory says that water and clouds are elements of inanimate nature, I encourage you to try to capture their beauty in the frame :) Especially when the camera separates us from the autumn, stormy Baltic Sea full of treasures that reach the shore after a storm, while gray-navy clouds gallop above it, driven by the wind. I have the impression that the task is no longer easy, but the effect in the form of a photo that captures the full power and dynamics of nature is a reward in itself.
Sobieszewska Island offers a whole spectrum of inanimate objects worth capturing. Wide, empty, sandy beaches. Logs and pebbles washed ashore. And between them, a golden treasure shimmering in the sun. Amber, because that's what we're talking about, willingly "shows off" after storms, in the areas of the open sea. So if we assume that beaches are relatively empty in autumn, and you have eagle eyes and are eager to explore, you can return from your holiday with souvenirs collected by yourself and photographic documentation.

The flapping of wings and the flash
What the most experienced or aspiring photographers have been waiting for. Photos in motion <3 In previous articles I described two unique nature reserves located on Sobieszewska Island: Ptasi Raj Reserve and Mewia Łacha Reserve.
For bird lovers, autumn is a great time to observe birds, and the western part of the Mewia Łacha reserve (and the mouth of the Vistula) together with the beach and the entire Bird Paradise, provide beautiful opportunities to admire various species. In September and October, you can expect migratory water birds, which prefer to rest on the Vistula than on open sea waters.
I encourage you to take up the challenge to capture this moment forever in your own photographs. Who knows, maybe they will be the ones that will appear in National Geographic one day :)

Framing memories
Autumn is the time when the silence of nature is most palpable. These are the moments when you can hear the rustle of falling leaves, the wind in the treetops and the subtle waves lapping at the shore. This silence, interrupted only by natural sounds, allows you to stop in the rush of everyday life and focus on what surrounds us. To notice what was previously invisible and to lean into the beauty of the world around us. Especially in a place as unique as Sobieszewska Island. I wish you the opportunity to preserve these images in photos, to which you will return on cold, winter evenings or in memories that will stay with you forever.
