A trip to the seaside in winter may seem like an unusual idea, but in reality it's a bull's eye! First of all, the fresh, iodine-saturated air acts as a natural immunity booster - perfect for both young and old. If your children have recently been struggling with colds, a seaside walk may be the best "medicine".
But Gdańsk in winter is not only the sea and beaches, but also a lot of attractions that will provide joy and good fun. Do you have the soul of an explorer? Jump into warm jackets, because an exciting field game in the Tri-City forests awaits you. Do you want a bit of madness? Sharpen your skates and check out the ice rinks, where you can have fun on the ice rink. Or maybe you dream of a bit of exoticism? Meet the talkative birds in one of the most colorful attractions of Gdańsk. And at the end, the warm lights of the theater and a show that will take you to a completely different world.
But the best part of all this is the time spent together! I invite you to a winter trip to Gdańsk!
The Parrot House is not only a place to meet exotic animals, but above all a space where the youngest learn empathy and respect for nature. Colorful parrots fly freely above heads, meerkats observe the surroundings, and calm capybaras rest lazily. But this is not a classic zoo.
When you enter the parrot house, you enter a completely different world – full of chirping, colourful wings and curious glances of the inhabitants of this extraordinary place. Each animal has its own story, and visitors can see what their daily lives look like.
This is a space where animals are treated with the utmost care. Their well-being is a priority, so visitors can see their natural behaviour, not forced tricks. Children learn that each animal has its own personality, needs and the right to a comfortable life.

A visit to the parrot house is a great opportunity to show children how important responsibility towards animals is. Thanks to special educational workshops, the youngest learn that each animal has its own needs, and caring for it is more than just feeding. It is also caring for its health, space and well-being. And if someone has ever dreamed of feeding a parrot from your hand, all it takes is a little patience and the right portion of delicacies to establish a unique bond with these extraordinary birds (which, however, due to the care for animals, depends on the parrots).
It is an ideal place to spend time close to nature, and at the same time take something more from this visit - not only beautiful memories, but also a valuable lesson about respect and the animal world.

Ready for a real adventure? Harpuś is an exciting outdoor game that combines sports, fun and unforgettable moments in the bosom of nature! Imagine that you get a map and your task is to find hidden points in the forest. You have complete freedom - you can walk, run, plan a strategy or rely on intuition. Here, cleverness, observation and teamwork count!
This event is for everyone – from children, through parents and grandparents, to avid runners. You can treat Harpuś as a recreational walk, great educational fun for the youngest or a real workout for the body and mind. There are four difficulty levels to choose from – from short, easy routes for beginners to longer and more demanding ones for people who want to test their navigation skills.
If this description reflects your spirit, be sure to save the date 16.02.2025 (Oliwa), because that is when the next edition is being prepared.
What awaits you on the route? Searching for lanterns, quick decisions, changes of direction and unforgettable emotions! Children will love this fun – for them it is like a real search mission, in which each found lantern is another success. But adults will also feel the thrill of competition and satisfaction from completing the route.
You do not need to have experience in orientation – instructors on site will explain how to read the map and effectively find checkpoints. All you need is an open mind and a desire for good fun!
Harpuś is also an opportunity to get to know the less obvious corners of the Tri-City. Choose movement, fresh air and emotions that will stay with you for a long time!

Sometimes the world of a child seems simple and carefree to adults. But what if it hides emotions that are hard to name, that accumulate until they finally find a completely unexpected way to make themselves known? Charlie – the protagonist of the play "Charlie changes into a chicken" performed by the Miniatura Theatre – experiences this in the strangest way. When he is overcome by stress, his body ceases to be his own – he changes into various animals, as if they could express what he himself cannot say.
The theatrical adaptation of Sam Copeland's book is more than just a story about a boy who suddenly begins to undergo uncontrolled metamorphoses. It is a story about fear, about a lack of a sense of security and about friendship that can brighten even the darkest moments. The creators of the play made sure that this theme resonated in an accessible, humorous and light form, without losing the depth of the message.
The set design and staging add an extraordinary dimension to the whole. The audience sits in the audience, but at the same time they become part of the play - the actors address them directly, go out to the audience, break the convention of the theater and even move the action to the balcony. All this makes the play lively and engaging, and children (and adults) get involved with their whole selves.
The Miniatura Theater created a play that talks about important issues in a way that is understandable and close to children, while at the same time leaving room for reflection. If you are looking for a play that will make you laugh, move you and raise important topics, it is worth giving it a chance during the holidays.
